This cake was created for a local preschool’s holiday party. I was given pretty much free reign to design whatever cake I wanted to, with the only guidance being a “winter wonderland” theme. I decided to alternate the layers and covered the 10 inch and 6 inch layers in white fondant accented with varying sizes of snowflakes. For the 8 inch and 4 inch layer I used simple buttercream frosting that I covered in fresh coconut. Finally, I topped the cake with a fondant star covered in clear crystals, which really gave the cake that extra sparkle under the lights.
